History

In XXI Siberian Ice Marathon was attended by over 650 runners from seven foreign countries and 18 regions of Russia. This year, Siberian Ice Marathon was held in the new status - the event has become a full member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). Raising the status to the International already brought its results: the number of foreign participants has increased by 10 percent. Has expanded its geography: in Omsk runners came from Australia, Britain, Germany, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, France and Sweden.

 

Sports program Siberian Ice Marathon included competitions for distance 21.1 km, and a mass sprint at 7 km.

 
First among the women for the fifth time taken omichka Nina Podnebesnova with the result 1:21:26. Half marathon silver medalist was the athlete from Murmansk Catherine Ulizhova losing the winner 22 seconds (1:21.48). Third place with a score of 1:25.10  Larissa Androsov.
 
Among men, the fourth win in the Omsk Christmas half-marathon athlete has gained from Murmansk Vadim Ulizhov. The winning time 1:09.13. Second place at the podium took Omich Shamil Bauta, showed 1:10.39. Third winner is Vasily Minaev from Krasnoyarsk region (result 1:10.53).
