SIM confirmed IAAF Bronze Label

Siberian International Marathon earns the status Bronze Road Race by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) for the second year in a row. President IAAF Lamine Diack (on the photograph) and Secretary General of IAAF Essar Gabriel Taffixed their signatures to the relevant certificate.


Siberian International Marathon for the first time became the owner of this status at the end of the marathon in 2011. According to the rules of IAAF, each year Marathon must confirm their status, otherwise he loses it.


The organizers of the SIM in 2012 met basic requirements of IAAF. Rated professional sportsmen from 5 countries participated in XXIII Siberian International Marathon,work of Anti-Doping Commission RUSADA was organized.


Siberian International Marathon continues to be the only one Russian marathon, which has in status of Bronze Road Race. All in the world are 16 marathons with this status.

Rating international marathons IAAF classifications are divided into three categories - "gold", "silver" and "bronze." SIM is the first Russian race included in this classification IAAF.
